Call recordings, transcripts and your privacy

What Juney keeps from each call, how long it's kept, and telling callers you record.

What Juney keeps

For each call, Juney keeps:

  • Her summary of the call, with the caller's number and details.
  • A transcript of everything that was said.
  • A recording, only if you've turned on Record calls. It's off unless you turn it on. See Record your calls.

You'll find them all in the Calls tab. See Read a call.

How long it's kept

Summaries, transcripts and recordings are kept for as long as you have your account. Deleting your account deletes all of them straight away. See Delete your account.

If you don't want transcripts kept

Turn on HIPAA mode (Settings → Advanced settings → HIPAA mode). Each call's transcript is then cleared once the call ends, and you still get Juney's summary. It only applies to calls from the moment you turn it on. See Don't keep transcripts or recordings.

Telling your callers

Juney doesn't tell callers a call is being recorded. In some places, the law requires callers to be told. If you turn on Record calls, you're responsible for following the rules that apply to your business.

The simplest way is to put it in your greeting. For example: "Hi, you've reached Smith Plumbing, this is Juney. Calls are recorded. How can I help?" See Set your greeting. If you're not sure what applies to you, get advice.
