Comparison

Rosie alternatives: 6 options compared

The usual reasons to look past Rosie (Hey Rosie) are in its plans: its $49 plan doesn't book or transfer, so booking means the $149 plan, and going over 250 minutes moves you up to $149 rather than charging per minute. The right alternative depends on which of those matters to you.

At 75 two-minute calls a month, Rosie costs $49 without booking or $149 with it (October 2026). Below, six AI answering services with what each would cost at that volume, who each suits, and the catch.

Why do people look for a Rosie alternative?

Public reviews are thin. Rosie has no reviews on Trustpilot, and its App Store listing shows 3.5 out of 5 from 11 ratings, and Google Play 4.9 from 11 (October 2026). Praise on the App Store is for after-hours cover and a lower cost than a call center; one review from October 2026 says calls still went to Rosie for days after the trial was canceled.

The plans explain more. Booking straight into a calendar, warm and live transfers, and texting during the call all start at $149. Each call rounds up to the next minute, and going over 250 minutes moves you up a plan at the full price, where you stay until you move back. Its terms allow use in the US and Canada only.

When to stay with Rosie: your callers speak Spanish, you take under about 125 short calls a month and booking links are enough, or you'd use its website chat and texting. On Scale it also books into Calendly, Acuity and Appointlet, which few alternatives here do.

The 6 alternatives

Juney: best for booking and transfers at $49, set up on a phone

It's the same $49 as Rosie's entry plan, with fewer minutes (150 against 250) but the Google Calendar booking and transfers Rosie keeps for $149. Going past the allowance means top-ups of 100 minutes for $20 rather than a move up a plan, so 150 two-minute calls come to $89 against Rosie's $149. It works in the UK and Australia too, not just the US and Canada, and Ring me first rings you in the Juney app for about 15 seconds before she answers.

The catch: English only, Google Calendar only, no website chat and no team accounts yet.

Marlie: best for rosie's minutes, with a per-minute overage

Marlie's entry plan has Rosie's numbers, $49 a month for 250 minutes, but handles a busy month differently: past the allowance it charges 35¢ a minute rather than moving you up. That makes 150 calls $66.50 against Rosie's $149. Booking and a transfer to one number arrive at $99 instead of $149, and Marlie trains itself from your website or Google listing. Its trial runs two weeks to Rosie's one.

The catch: no app at all, and the $49 plan doesn't book or transfer either.

Beside: best for an app-first service with text replies

Beside's app is the main way to run it, where Rosie's app sits alongside a web dashboard. It answers inbound texts, has voices in up to five languages to Rosie's two, and links to HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho CRM and Follow Up Boss. Booking and transfers come on both plans: $29 for 30 AI-answered calls, or $99 uncapped, so 75 calls with both are $99 against Rosie's $149.

The catch: like Rosie, it's US and Canada only, and the $29 plan has no trial.

Dialzara: best for a lower entry price, billed per minute

Dialzara starts below Rosie, at $29 a month for 60 minutes, and puts callers through (blind transfers) on that plan, which Rosie's $49 plan doesn't. Past the allowance it charges by the minute, or sends callers to voicemail if auto-recharge is off, instead of moving you up. Calendar sync, warm transfers and Spanish start at $99, so 75 calls with booking are $99 against Rosie's $149. Unlike Rosie, it can port your number, and it offers UK and Australian numbers on request.

The catch: no app, and 48¢ for each minute over the first plan's 60.

Goodcall: best for unlimited minutes with booking

Goodcall replaces Rosie's minute allowance with a count of different callers, $79 a month for 100 different callers, and long calls cost nothing extra. Google Calendar booking and transfers (up to three people in turn) are on that entry plan, not held for $149, so 75 calls from about 60 people, with both, come to $79 against Rosie's $149. Goodcall can receive all forwarded calls; to answer first, use your carrier's no-answer forwarding.

The catch: English only, where Rosie also speaks Spanish, and a demo agent instead of a trial.

Upfirst: best for booking on every plan, billed per call

Upfirst books from its cheapest plan, into Google, Outlook, Calendly, Acuity, Square or Clio, where Rosie's booking waits for $149. It counts calls rather than minutes: $24.95 a month for 30 calls, so 75 calls with booking cost $59.95 against Rosie's $149, and a busy month adds a per-call charge instead of a new plan. Spam and calls under 15 seconds aren't billed, and it lists 35+ languages to Rosie's two.

The catch: no native app found, where Rosie has one, and every short call counts as a full call.

How do you switch from Rosie?

  1. Check last month's minutes, and whether Rosie moved you up a plan, then price each option at that volume.
  2. Start the new service's trial while Rosie is still answering.
  3. Set it up and test it with calls of your own: a booking, a price question, an urgent job.
  4. Change your call forwarding to the new service. If you used conditional forwarding codes, cancel each one; some services, Juney included, need every call forwarded.
  5. Check a test call reaches the new service before you cancel Rosie, so no caller hears a canceled line.
  6. Cancel in Rosie's admin: no contract or fee, and access runs to the end of the billing period.
