Comparison
AIRA alternatives: 6 options compared
The reasons to look past AIRA are in its plans: bookings that go through Zapier rather than straight into a calendar, a per-call bill that steps up after 30 calls, and a setup that lives in a web dashboard. Which AI receptionist or answering service fits depends on which of those bothers you.
At 75 two-minute calls a month, AIRA costs $59.95 on its 90-call plan (October 2026). Below, six alternatives, with what each would cost at that volume, who each suits, and the catch.
The alternatives at a glance
| Service | Best for | Entry price | At 75 calls | Books and puts calls through at that price? |

| Juney | Tradespeople who want Google Calendar booking from a phone app | $49 a month for 150 minutes | $49 | Yes |
| Upfirst | AIRA's prices with direct calendar booking | $24.95 a month for 30 calls | $59.95 | Yes |
| Goodcall | Long calls with no minute or call meter | $79 a month for 100 different callers | $79 | Yes |
| Dialzara | Per-minute billing with Spanish and calendar sync | $29 a month for 60 minutes | $72.20 | Blind transfers; no calendar sync |
| Smith.ai | Per-call billing with live people when you need them | Free for 25 calls | $150 | Yes |
| Beside | An app instead of a dashboard, in the US or Canada | $29 a month for 30 calls | $99 | Yes |

Why look for an AIRA alternative?
We couldn't find public reviews to go on: AIRA has no Trustpilot page and we found no app-store listing (October 2026). So the reasons here come from its own pricing and setup pages.
- Booking runs through Zapier. AIRA lists its calendar connections through Zapier, so a booking depends on a second service being set up and working.
- The bill steps up past 30 calls. Starter covers 30 calls; after that each one is $1.50, so a business taking 75 calls a month is on the $59.95 plan, and one taking 150 pays $119.95.
- It's set up on the web. The three-phase setup and the call dashboard are in a web app, which suits an office better than a van.
When to stay with AIRA: callers speak languages other than English (it lists 31), you take 30 calls or fewer, your calls run long, or you want a built-in CRM and a free number included. Few alternatives match all four at $24.95 a month.
The 6 alternatives
Juney: best for tradespeople who want Google Calendar booking from a phone app
Where AIRA reaches calendars through Zapier, Juney books, moves and cancels in Google Calendar directly, and it puts urgent callers through to a number you choose. It counts minutes instead of calls: $49 a month for 150 minutes, then $20 for each 100 more, so short calls cost less and long ones more; 75 two-minute calls come to $49 against AIRA's $59.95. Setup happens in a phone app, not a dashboard, and with Ring me first the Juney app rings you for about 15 seconds.
The catch: English only against AIRA's 31 languages, no CRM, and no number of its own: it answers the one you have.
Upfirst: best for aIRA's prices with direct calendar booking
Upfirst has the same four prices, call allowances and per-call rates as AIRA, from $24.95 a month for 30 calls, so 75 calls cost $59.95. The differences are in the details: it books straight into Google, Outlook, Calendly, Acuity, Square and Clio; it lists 35+ languages; and it doesn't bill calls under 15 seconds, calls where nobody speaks, or spam. It can also take the calls your carrier forwards when you don't answer, and its trial runs 14 days with no card.
The catch: it's set up on the web too, and each extra agent (a second business or location) is $9.95 a month.
Goodcall: best for long calls with no minute or call meter
Goodcall goes a step past AIRA's per-call billing: it counts neither calls nor minutes, only different callers, at $79 a month for 100 different callers. A customer who rings three times in a month counts once, where AIRA bills three calls, so 75 calls from about 60 people cost $79. Booking goes straight into Google Calendar instead of through Zapier, transfers try up to three people, and it can answer all forwarded calls, or calls you miss if you set carrier no-answer forwarding.
The catch: English only, a higher entry price than AIRA's $24.95, and a demo agent in place of a timed trial.
Dialzara: best for per-minute billing with Spanish and calendar sync
Dialzara bills per minute, from $29 a month for 60 minutes. That entry plan puts callers through but doesn't sync a calendar; Google or Outlook sync, warm transfers and Spanish start on its $99 plan, which also covers 75 two-minute calls with booking. It offers UK and Australian numbers on request as well as US ones, and a 7-day trial.
The catch: it's web dashboard only, and minutes past the entry allowance cost 48¢ each.
Smith.ai: best for per-call billing with live people when you need them
Smith.ai bills per call like AIRA, and adds what AIRA doesn't have: a free plan for 25 calls, plus Hybrid and human plans where live receptionists take some or all of your calls. Scheduling is built into every AI plan rather than run through Zapier, Spanish comes with English, and it links to Clio, Salesforce and HubSpot instead of keeping its own CRM. At 75 calls the AI plan costs $150.
The catch: that's $150 against AIRA's $59.95 at the same volume, and its AI and Hybrid plans need 30 days' notice to cancel.
Beside: best for an app instead of a dashboard, in the US or Canada
Beside is the app-first answer to AIRA's dashboard: setup and day-to-day running happen on the phone, with an optional web app. Its AI answers calls and replies to inbound texts, books into Google Calendar directly, puts callers through, and syncs with HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho and Follow Up Boss. Instead of per-call charges it's $29 for 30 AI-answered calls or $99 with no cap, which is the bill at 75 calls.
The catch: lines in the US and Canada only, the $29 plan has no trial, and the jump from 30 calls to the uncapped plan is steep.
Which AIRA alternative should you pick?
- You like AIRA's prices but want direct calendar booking: Upfirst.

- Some callers need a real person: Smith.ai.
- You want per-minute billing with Spanish: Dialzara, from its booking plan.

How do you switch from AIRA?
- Note last month's call count and how long the calls ran, then price each option at that volume.
- If customers ring the free AIRA number, decide which number you'll use from now on. Services that work by forwarding, Juney among them, answer a number you own.
- Start the new service's trial while AIRA is still answering.
- Set it up and test it with calls of your own: a booking, a price question, an urgent job that should be put through.
- Move your call forwarding to the new service.
- Watch the first week's call notes, then cancel AIRA from its dashboard. Its plans are month to month.

Which AIRA alternatives book straight into a calendar?
As of October 2026: Upfirst (Google, Outlook, Calendly, Acuity, Square and Clio) on every plan, Juney and Goodcall (Google Calendar), Beside (your calendar), and Dialzara (Google or Outlook) from its $99 plan. AIRA lists its calendar connections through Zapier.
Is there an alternative with the same prices as AIRA?
Yes. Upfirst's four plans match AIRA's prices, allowances and per-call rates, from $24.95 a month for 30 calls (October 2026). Upfirst adds direct calendar booking and doesn't bill short or silent calls; AIRA adds a built-in CRM and a free number.
Which AIRA alternative speaks the most languages?
Upfirst, with 35+ against AIRA's 31 (October 2026). Smith.ai answers in English and Spanish, Dialzara adds Spanish from its $99 plan, and Beside offers up to five on iPhone. Juney and Goodcall speak English only.
Can I keep my business number if I leave AIRA?
Yes, if you forward your own number to AIRA: point the forwarding at the new service and customers keep ringing the same number. If customers know the free AIRA number instead, you'll need to give them your own number, because Juney answers calls forwarded from a number you own.
