How to Forward Calls on Android and Samsung for Your Business
How to forward calls on Android or Samsung: the forwarding codes, the Phone app menu, and how to send calls to an AI answering service or AI receptionist.

TL;DR
- On most Android phones, dial your carrier's code from the keypad:
**21*or*21*, then the number, then#. On Verizon it's*72and the number. - No luck with the code? In the Phone app, tap ⋮ → Settings → Supplementary services (or Calls) → Call forwarding → Voice calls → Always forward. Samsung and Pixel menus differ a little.
- To stop, dial
##21#or#21#(*73on Verizon), or switch Always forward off. - For an answering service, forward all calls from the business line. Your number stays the same.

An Android phone gives you two ways to send business calls somewhere else: a short code you dial, or a setting in the Phone app. Both talk to your carrier, so the number on your van and your quotes keeps working while someone else picks up.
How do I forward calls on an Android phone?
You forward calls on Android by dialing your carrier's forwarding code, or by turning on Always forward in the Phone app's call settings. Do it on the phone that holds your business SIM. Your carrier takes forwarding changes only from the line itself, so another handset won't do.
With a forwarding code
- Open the Phone app and go to the keypad.
- Type your carrier's code with the destination number inside it, for example
**21*+ the number +#. - Tap call.
- Wait for your carrier's confirmation tone or on-screen message, then hang up.
The code works the same on a Samsung, a Pixel or any other Android, because your carrier reads it, not the phone. Hang up before the confirmation and the change may not register.
In the Phone app's settings
The menu sets the same thing through a screen. The path that fits many Android phones is:
- Open the Phone app, tap ⋮, then Settings.
- Tap Supplementary services (some phones call it Calls), then Call forwarding.
- Tap Voice calls, then Always forward.
- Enter the number and save.
Menu names vary by phone maker. Google's Phone app, the one on Pixel phones, has no help article on forwarding (checked October 2026). A Google Product Expert on its Phone app community forum points to Settings → Calling accounts → your carrier → Advanced settings → Call forwarding instead (January 2026). If you can't find a forwarding menu at all, use the code or ask your carrier.
How do I forward calls on a Samsung Galaxy?
On a Samsung Galaxy, call forwarding lives under Supplementary services in the Phone app's settings. Samsung's US support guide lists these steps:
- Open the Phone app, tap More options (the three dots), then Settings.
- Tap Supplementary services, then Call forwarding.
- Choose Always forward.
- Enter the number to forward to, then tap Enable.
Samsung's Australian guide (updated August 2026) follows the same path. To stop forwarding, you tap the option again and choose Disable. Samsung says the features depend on your carrier and model, and its guides for other regions add a step or two on some phones: pick SIM 1 or SIM 2 on a dual-SIM Galaxy, then Voice calls.
Samsung offers four choices on that screen: Always forward, Forward when busy, Forward when unanswered and Forward when unreachable. Only the first sends every call on. The other three hand a call over only in one situation each.
What are the call forwarding codes on Android?
Two sets of codes cover most Android users in the US, UK, Australia and Canada. Most carriers use the GSM codes built on 21; Verizon and the networks that share its codes use *72 and *73.
| Carrier | Forward all calls | Turn forwarding off |
|---|---|---|
| Most carriers, such as Telstra, Optus, AT&T, T-Mobile, EE, Rogers and Telus | **21* + number + #, or *21* + number + # | ##21#, or #21# |
| Verizon and networks on its codes, such as Visible, Xfinity Mobile, US Cellular and Boost Mobile | *72 + number | *73, or *720 on US Cellular and Boost Mobile |
Which form your carrier uses depends on the carrier. Telstra's own code, for example, ends *11# rather than #. In the UK, EE, O2, Vodafone, Three and giffgaff switch off with ##21#, Sky with #21# (or ##21#) and TalkTalk with ##21#, and Juney writes your number into UK codes in +44 form, without its first 0. Juney's help center lists the exact on and off codes for every supported carrier in Countries, carriers and languages. Tesco Mobile in the UK doesn't support call forwarding.
What to do: use your carrier's all-calls code. On GSM networks, codes built on 61, 62 or 67 forward only the calls you don't answer, can't receive or are busy for. With no-answer forwarding, your carrier decides how long the phone rings before the service gets the call.
Why didn't my forwarding code work?
A code usually fails for one of four reasons: it was dialed from a phone that isn't the business line, the call ended before the carrier confirmed it, a digit in the number was wrong, or the plan can't forward calls.
What to do:
- Dial from the business phone. On a dual-SIM phone, make sure the code goes out on the business SIM.
- Wait for the tone or message before you hang up.
- Check the number inside the code digit by digit.
- Check your plan. Many prepaid plans can't forward. Two examples from Juney's help center: on Vodafone Australia prepaid or Vodafone UK Pay as you go, calls can only be diverted to voicemail, and Koodo or Telus prepaid can't send all calls on.
- Try the other route. Use the Phone app menu instead, or ask your carrier to switch forwarding on for you.
Then ring your business number from another phone. If it reaches the number you forwarded to, you're done.
What number do I forward my business calls to?
The destination is a number your answering service hands you. Behind the scenes, an AI answering service or AI receptionist has its own number where it picks up. Your carrier passes along anything dialed to your business number, while customers go on calling the number they know. Nothing is ported.
On Android, Juney builds that number into your carrier's code, so you never type it. You do it all in the Juney app on the phone, without a computer:
- In Juney, tap Switch my line on and choose your carrier.
- Juney shows a card headed YOUR CODE, with your carrier's code and your Juney number already in it. Tap Open keypad, and your Phone app opens with the code filled in.
- Tap call and wait for the tone or message.
- Back in Juney, tap I've done it, and she checks the line. She rings your business number with a silent test call, which takes about 30 seconds, to confirm calls now land with her.
If your Phone app won't open, the button turns into Copy code, so you can paste it into the keypad yourself. If the code doesn't take, Didn't work? offers a second code where your carrier has one, then the Phone app menu steps, then your carrier. Each screen, and the fixes if the line check fails, are in the help center's Switch your line on.
Will my Android phone still ring?
It won't ring as an ordinary call, since every call now goes from your carrier to Juney. In Ringing mode, choose Ring me first and the Juney app rings you for about 15 seconds before she answers. Choose Straight to Juney on days you can't answer anything. Stay signed in, allow notifications and keep a data connection; if the app can't be reached, she answers. The steps are in Ring your phone first.
Should I choose Always forward or Forward when unanswered?
Choose Always forward for an answering service. Juney is built on all-calls forwarding and doesn't use the carrier's busy, unanswered or unreachable options. Your chance to take a call yourself comes from the app ringing you, not from the carrier holding the call for a few rings.
With Forward when unanswered, your carrier waits while your phone rings before sending the call on. An answering-service carrier guide lists Verizon's wait as about 30 seconds and fixed, as of October 2026. Google says calls handled by automatic call screening won't be forwarded. With Always forward, the carrier sends the call on before the phone rings, so screening does not see it first.
The trade-off is that personal calls to the same number are forwarded too. Add family and regular suppliers to Excluded contacts so Juney doesn't answer them. With Ring me first, their calls ring the app and then go to voicemail; Straight to Juney sends them to voicemail. Your carrier may charge for forwarding, including the seconds the app rings while the call is connected.
What to do: if you use Forward when unanswered, turn off automatic call screening and test by calling from another phone.
When Ring me first rings you in the Juney app and you answer, that call doesn't use your Juney minutes.
How do I turn call forwarding off on Android?
Dial your carrier's off code (##21# or #21# on most networks, *73 on Verizon), or open the Phone app's call forwarding menu and switch Always forward off. On a Samsung, tap Always forward and choose Disable. Then call your business number from another phone: it should ring you again.
What to do:
- Pausing Juney? Go to Settings → Your line → Forwarding → Just need a break? and tap Switch forwarding off. Juney shows your carrier's off code on the same kind of card: tap Open keypad, which types the code in for you, place the call, then come back and tap I've switched it off. If it doesn't take, Didn't work? offers a second off code where your carrier has one, then the Phone app menu, then your carrier. Juney doesn't place a call to check this one, so ring your number yourself.
- Coming back? Switch her back on shows the same YOUR CODE card, and I've done it runs the line check again.
- Carrier switched it on for you? Ask them to switch it off.
Logging out of Juney doesn't stop forwarding. Calls keep going to her until you switch forwarding off yourself.
Does call forwarding cost anything on Android?
Your carrier and plan decide that, not your Android. Plenty of plans include it. Some charge for every forwarded call or take it out of your call allowance, and some prepaid plans block forwarding entirely. Juney's help center names a few that charge: Fido bills forwarded minutes unless you buy its forwarding add-on, Koodo and amaysim charge too, and giffgaff takes it from your credit when you're not on a plan.
Juney gives you a local number in your own country to forward to. Before you switch forwarding on, ask your carrier whether your plan charges extra to forward to a local number.
Juney's plans, as of October 2026: $49 a month or $490 a year (USD), each with 150 minutes a month, then top-ups of 100 minutes for $20, bought in the app, which don't expire. A 7-day free trial with 50 answering minutes comes first. See Juney's plans and free trial.
What if my business number is on a landline or an iPhone?
Switch forwarding on from whichever phone or line has the business number. The Android steps above only apply when the business SIM is in an Android phone.
- A landline: dial its code on the landline handset, not on your Android. Your phone company can tell you the code, or switch it on for you.
- An iPhone: copy your carrier's code from Juney, paste it into that iPhone's keypad and tap call, or use Settings → Apps → Phone → Call Forwarding on that iPhone as the fallback.
- A VoIP service: set the forward in the service's dashboard.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the code to forward all calls on Android?
On most carriers it's **21* or *21*, then the number you're forwarding to, then #. On Verizon and the networks on its codes, it's *72 followed by the number. Juney's help center lists the exact form for each supported carrier.
Should I use Forward when unanswered for an answering service?
Use Always forward so your carrier sends the call on before the phone rings. With Forward when unanswered, the carrier sets the wait and Pixel's automatic screening can prevent forwarding. Choose Ring me first to get about 15 seconds to answer in the Juney app.
Does call forwarding work on a dual-SIM Android?
Yes, one line at a time. Forwarding belongs to the SIM's number, so set it on the business SIM: choose that SIM in the call forwarding menu, or make sure the code is dialed from that line.
Does forwarding still work if my Android is on another network or roaming?
Forwarding is set on your carrier's network, not in the phone itself. Your carrier may charge for forwarded calls while roaming abroad, so check your plan before you travel.
